NOTE: All completed scholarship applications require a letter of recommendation. Award amounts could be different than listed, whereas award amounts and numbers may vary from year to year.

*The Dr. Joe Eben Corliss and #BELIKEHAYLEY scholarships have additional essay questions that are required to be answered by the applicant.

 

**SUMNER ROTARY SCHOLARSHIPS - Most Sumner Rotary scholarships are NOT managed by the Sumner-Bonney Lake Education Foundation. However, some require an additional essay linked to this site. If you have questions regarding any of the Sumner Rotary scholarships, please contact the Sumner Rotary.

AVAILABLE SCHOLARSHIPS

#BELIKEHAYLEY SCHOLARSHIP

Requirements: The #belikehayley Scholarship honors a graduating senior from each high school (including Elhi Hill) in the SBLSD who exhibits an understanding of the selfless and life-giving act of organ donation.
Award(s): Multiple Scholarships annually at $500

AMERICAN LEGION POST 67 VETERANS BENEFIT SCHOLARSHIP

Requirements: A scholarship will be awarded to a graduating student in each high school with a military veteran in their immediate family (a military veteran, former or currently serving, active force, guard or reserve component) enrolled in a two-or four-year college program, or in an accredited trade school.

Awards(s): Two $500 awards, one for Sumner High School and one for Bonney Lake High School.

Selection: American Legion Post 67 Scholarship committee

BLESSING MOVEMENT COMMUNITY BUILDER SCHOLARSHIP

Requirements: This scholarship honors students who see value in serving the community and participate in the Blessing Movement yard project and other volunteer events within the students’ local community. Each student will create value by helping local Senior Citizens, the Disabled, and/or Veterans by doing yard work for those who are in need. Multiple community organizations, local businesses, and individuals contribute and support these scholarships.

Award(s): Multiple scholarship at a minimum of $500 each

BLHS BAND ALLIANCE SCHOLARSHIP

Requirements: Honors a Bonney Lake High School senior band student.
Award(s): $500
Selection: The BLHS Band Parent Association

BOB DALTON SCHOLARSHIP

Requirements: Must be planning to pursue a career in communications.
Award(s): $500
Selection: The Dalton family through the Sumner-Bonney Lake Education Foundation

BOB SWANSON MEMORIAL MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP

Requirements: Must be a choral or band student who will pursue a college education to become a music educator.
Award(s): $500
Selection: The Sumner-Bonney Lake Education Foundation

BONNEY LAKE SUMNER LITTLE LEAGUE SCHOLARSHIP

Requirements: This scholarship honors four Sumner-Bonney Lake School District seniors who have been Bonney Lake Sumner Little League athletes during their time in attendance within the Sumner-Bonney Lake School District. These seniors will bring the leadership and sportsmanship skills they have gained through their BLSLL athletic experience to their post high school education. Must have been a participant in a BLSLL athletics program for at least two (2) years during their attendance at Sumner-Bonney Lake School District. Eligible BLSLL playing divisions: Juniors, Majors, Minors. Student must have maintained a 3.2 cumulative GPA during high school and demonstrate leadership and sportsmanship skills gained through their athletic experience in BLSLL.
Award(s): Four $1,000 Scholarships: One male and one female at each Sumner High School and Bonney Lake High School

CHAMBER COLLECTIVE SCHOLARSHIP

Requirements: Must be pursuing a two or four-year education with emphasis in business.
Award(s): $500

DR. JOE EBEN CORLISS ENTREPRENEURIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Requirements: Must be planning to pursue a career in business entrepreneurship. This scholarship will require finalist interviews and an additional essay.
Award(s): $2,500 each year for 4 years for a total of $10,000

EILEEN LEIGHTON BEAULIEU SCHOLARSHIP

Requirements: Must be planning to pursue a career involving children. 
Award(s): $500
Selection: The Beaulieu family through the Sumner-Bonney Lake Education Foundation

EISMANN FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP

Requirements: Must be pursuing a four-year college education in either liberal arts or social sciences.
Award(s): $1,500 each year for 4 years for a total of $6,000

GARIANDO-BELVAL DIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP

Requirements: The Gariando-Belval merit-based scholarship will be awarded to a minority student who exhibits high achievements and/or potential in areas such as academics, leadership, and community work. Eligible applicants must pursue undergraduate or community college degrees, have a 3.0 GPA, and be a minority student.

HARRY CORLISS SCHOLARSHIP FOR THE TRADES

Requirements: A student from Sumner High and a student from Bonney Lake High who demonstrates potential, commitment to attend trade school, and has interest in a career in the construction, transportation, automotive, or engineering trades. Must be planning on attending a Trade School and have a 3.0 GPA or higher.
Award(s): $8,000
Selection: Representatives of the Corliss Family

HEART OF THE PANTHER SCHOLARSHIP

Requirements: This scholarship honors the four students selected for the Bonney Lake Panther, Heart of the Panther award with a $500 scholarship for each of the recipients.
Award(s): $500
Selection: The Bonney Lake High School Staff

JOHN DOAN ARTS AND MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP

Requirements: To a student studying art, music or journalism.
Award(s): $1,500
Selection: The Sumner-Bonney Lake Education Foundation

KATHRYN DALTON TEACHER SCHOLARSHIP

Requirements: Must be planning to pursue a career in education.
Award(s): $500
Selection: The Dalton family through the Sumner-Bonney Lake Education Foundation

LEVY FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP

Requirements: To a student of good standing who has been involved in STEM classes and/or is interested in pursuing a career in the medical field.

Award(s): $1,500

Selection: The Judith Levy Family

MADISON MURPHY VOLLEYBALL SCHOLARSHIP

Requirements: Must be in varsity program senior year and finish in good standing with a minimum 2.5 GPA and must have played all consecutive years in high school.
Award(s): $500
Selection: The Panther Parent Pride (PPP)

NEWLAND COMMUNITIES AT TEHALEH SCHOLARSHIP

Requirements: To a student who wishes to pursue a career with a sustainability conscious focus. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 and demonstrate current sustainability conscious practices in their daily life.
Award(s): $500

SUMNER ROTARY ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP

Requirements: Must be planning to enroll in a two of four-year college or university with the long-term goalof obtaining a Bachelor degree or beyond as qualification for future career. Additional essay is required. Preferences are given to those who exemplify Rotary’s motto of “Service Above Self.”
Award(s): Several scholarships of $3,500 are awarded each year

SUMNER ROTARY VOCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP

Requirements: Must be planning to use Vocational/Technical certification or Associate degree for a future career. Additional essay required. Preference is given to those who exemplify Rotary’s motto of “Service Above Self.”
Award(s): Several scholarships of $2,500 are awarded each year

Requirements: High academic achievement based on GPA and strength of courses taken.

Requirements: Must be planning to pursue a technical or vocational career.
